“A Fire Protection District receives guaranteed income based on a tax
levy that is voted on by citizens living within the district. Volunteer
Fire Departments that do not receive tax money operate on donations
and other set fees within the district. While donations and
fundraising events will still be necessary, becoming a Fire Protection
District will nearly triple the annual operating budget from years
previous. This increase in income will go towards training, equipment
upgrades, and more public safety measures.”
